Circle of Life is a very personal piece of macrame wall art, inspired by the idea that everything is connected and that we are all part of something much bigger than ourselves.
The design is made up of connected circular patterns, each flowing into the next. The circles represent the people and generations that came before us, the lives they lived and the connection that continues through each generation. They are a reminder that although our lives are individual, we are all part of an ongoing cycle.
The twisting coils woven through the design represent the more complicated parts of life. Life doesn't always follow a straight or easy path, and these twists and turns are a reminder of the challenges we can face along the way — and of our ability to keep moving through them.
Together, the circles and coils create a piece that represents connection, family, life and the journey we each take. It's a design that has meaning beyond the macrame itself, while still being a beautiful and highly textured piece of handmade wall art.
Circle of Life is carefully handmade using high-quality natural cotton cord. The intricate knotwork creates plenty of texture and depth, with the connected shapes giving the piece a strong visual focus.
At approximately 96cm high x 65cm wide, it makes a substantial piece of macrame wall decor above a sofa, bed, sideboard or on a larger wall.
For me, Circle of Life is about appreciating the connections we have with the people around us, remembering those who came before us and recognising that every life is part of a much bigger story.
